Introductory courses for prospective umpires and scorers to be held
As part of their Strategic Development Plan(2014-2017) the Munster Cricket Union will be holding introductory courses in umpiring and scoring in the coming months. The aim of these courses is to recruit new umpires and scorers for the 2015 season and further the development of cricket in the Munster Region.
Introductory evenings will be held with all MCU clubs(including UCC) in the coming weeks to give people the opportunity to familiarise themselves with both the requirements and the opportunities that umpiring and scoring provide.
In addition, all participants will be given the opportunity to sit the umpires and scorers level 1 test in March 2015, should they so wish.
So if you’re one of those players who never thinks they are out LBW or can’t figure out why a leg-bye isn’t included in a players score, why not come down to the introductory evening and learn a little more. You never know, you could be the next Billy Bowden!
