Big blow for UCC as Irish International Amin ruled out of Indoor IV’s
UCC have been dealt a blow just two weeks from the Indoor Intervarsity Championships with the news that key player Junaid Amin (pictured) will not be available for the tournament in Belfast. The right arm fast bowler who has been capped by Ireland Universities on six occasions will be a big loss for Shahrukh Nawaz’s side in their quest to regain the Indoor title. Having picked up 13 wickets in last year’s Championships at an average of just 7.85, Amin would have figured heavily in UCC’s bowling plans and his loss will put added pressure on the remainder of the bowling unit.
Thomas Raju, who represented UCC in last year’s Outdoor Intervarsities has been called up as a replacement, having just missed out first time around.
